Government and Legal Representation

Legislative Affairs

Every year issues arise that could potentially harm our industry. Tennessee is one of the safer places in the country to live and raise a family due to actions of people and firms below. Without their assistance, the electronic security and life safety industry in the State of TN would not be what it is today. A portion of each membership’s dues goes to cover the expenses of these efforts. Over the years TBFAA/ TNESA/ TNSI has been honored to have some talented volunteers to serve on the Legislative Sub-Committee for our members. They volunteer many hours working with state and local government representatives for the greater good.

Legislative Volunteers: Robin Frase, Cecil Hogan, Ken Roberts, CR “Butch” Work, Dudley Williamson, John Knox, David Smith, Richard Roberts, Larry Brooks, LJ Lynes

State and Government Representation

Lane Government Relations
As one of the many member benefits, TNSI has maintained a lobbyist on retainer for over 40 years. Lane Government Relations has represented our members for the last three years. Lane Government Relations is a Nashville-based government affairs firm specializing in lobbying, policy guidance, and PAC management. Megan Lane is the founder of Lane Government Relations and is our registered lobbyist.

Local and Municipality Representation

From time to time circumstances arise that may need support from attorney or lobbing firms on a local level. Recently, the City of Memphis made some changes to their City Ordinance that called for action from the Security Industry. While we did try to work with the City Administration, local attorney’s had to be retained in order to come to a conclusion that was palatable for our members.

Should you need to retain local services our association would recommend the following firms as a trusted source in the Memphis area.
